Ana Frank is well known as the Jewish girl who wrote her diary while confined for two years, hiding away from the Nazis in the Netherlands. The book is rich in detail about everyday life and routines in those terrible and claustrophobic circumstances, as well as sprinkled with angry adolescence and Ana´s sense of humour.
Other beatiful and moving stories about children´s experience during WW2 and the Nazi persecution of the Jews that you could read or watch film adaptations:
When Hitler stole Pink rabbit, by Judith Kerr
A bag of marbles, by Joseph Joffo
The boy in the striped pyjamas, by John Boyne
